This is common practice to produce fake house rent receipts to claim higher tax relief on HRA. Many of people, I know do this year after year. They purchase readymade rent slip book from market, fill up the details and one of friend sign there on receipts after pasting revenue stamps. Then these receipts get submitted to company.
It’s also required to submit copy of rental agreement if rent per month is above Rs. (where is my rupee symbol?) 10,000/-. Ah, no big deal, take your rent agreement, scan it and open Photoshop or even MS-Paint if you are keen ☺, change rental amount to whatever you want and take a print-out of modified version.

It seems like that folks behind one of India’s largest online brokerage house ICICIDirect.com have no clue about SLA and BCP terms for their site because thousands of their clients banged their heads on walls on Thursday, 8th July 2010 when the site remains unavailable for more than 24 hours. No explanation, no update during downtime and no prior notice to clients. Its always possible that sites can have technical glitches/issues and not working for a short period is understandable, but if the downtime stretch for hours and hours without any notice/updates in meantime clearly shows how much they care for their customers and a system where people are likely to have lost crores of rupees has to be accountable.

I have been using this spreadsheet since 6-7 months and able to track my household expenses. I can see where my money is going and trying to reduce the expenses without being noticed by family 5-7% per month due to this. Of course, there are sophisticated software/sites are there which make this very easy but still I found them quite complex and no interest to learn/use them.
