Simple pre-formatted spreadsheet to track personal/household expenses
I have been using this spreadsheet since 6-7 months and able to track my household expenses. I can see where my money is going and trying to reduce the expenses without being noticed by family 5-7% per month due to this. Of course, there are sophisticated software/sites are there which make this very easy but still I found them quite complex and no interest to learn/use them.
Download the spreadsheet from here. Do not enter any value in grayed cells (cell which have gray background), the values in these cells are calculated automatically. The whole idea is to specify labels like h for house rent, e for entertainment, k for kitchen/groceries etc. you can update existing labels or add new one. Put your daily entries under daily log, specifying the label in which expense is occurred and amount,date etc.

This is really good.. I have been keeping records of my personal expenses in wordpad.. .however this looks really cool.
How about adding another Label for the amount sent to home? for me like poor people… who sends a lucrative amount to home and yeah the worst thing is… you cant budget it as you don’t know whats coming as a requirement from home next month.

Thanks!! You should add a new label, say “o” and roughly estimate the budget for it. later when required put entry in daily log mentioning the label to track it. let me know, if you need further help for labeling.
